SIDELOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN BY A. JOSEPH DEFOURNY. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 12381. (1943). Bbls. chopper lump 26 3/4" w/ matted game rib engraved "A. Jos. Defourny " Fabricant" & "Herstal Belgique" on tops. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ 1943 Belgian nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers. Case hardened square backed sidelock action features non automatic safety, hidden third fastener, bushed strikers w/ Purdey type gas vents & dbl. triggers. Action & lockplates engraved w/ 80% coverage fairly well cut scroll. Steel trigger guard w/ scroll on bow has S# on tang. Lightly figured European walnut rnd. knob pistol grip buttstock measures 14 1/4" over checkered wood butt. Flat top checkering w/ mullered borders is at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Bore diameters: left - .724., right - .724. Bore restriction: left - .015 (Mod), right - .008 (IC). Wall thickness: left - .029, right - .031. DAH: 2 7/16". DAC: 1 7/16". Cast approx. 1/4"off. WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 13 oz. CONDITION: very fine, close to "as new" w/ only some high edge wear on beads of action. Blue is thinning a bit at grip. Stock has light & attractive oil refinish over 1 or 2 light marks w/ a scattering of subsequent light marks. Bright shiny bores. Action is tight. Bbls. are on face. Ejectors are strong & in time.
