STUTTGART WITH EXTRA 10 BORE BARREL SET. Cal. 8 Bore, approx. 3 1/4" / 10 Bore, 2 7/8". NSN. The 32" fine 3 stripe Damascus 8 ga. bbls. are engraved “G. WILCKE STUTTGART” on slightly raised game rib with extension. Bbl. flats are stamped with Belgian black powder proofs and “NON POUR BALLE”. The 28" 10 bore bbls. are similarly marked on rib and bbl. flats except there is no choke marking. Round bodied large size top lever action is fitted with front spring sidelocks with round bodied serpentine rebounding hammers with tall thumb spurs. Action and locks are engraved with full coverage very nicely cut varying size shaded scroll within scroll and geometric borders. Action features dual underlugs and crossbolt 3rd fastener and double triggers. Capped pistolgrip buttstock of nicely fiddle figured and lightly streaked European walnut measures 14 1/4" over steel buttplate. Gripcap is horn and point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: 8 BORE BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .805", L .805". Restriction: R .038" (FULL), L.040" (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .045", L .040". Both bbl. sets retaining over 90% of a good quality rebrown with excellent definition to pattern. This fine finish is over some light pitting noted on 10 ga. bbls. Action is mostly pewter gray with some scattered dark patches of light pitting. Stocks retain most of an older oil refinish. Sharp edges rounded. Checkering recut. Wood is somewhat under metal on action and locks and forend iron. Bores are lightly pitted throughout, but have been polished and are shiny. Action is loose with both barrel sets and needs attention. 10 Ga. barrels feel relatively tight with forend in place. Top lever needs to be held to right for barrels to close. Locks are good.
