BOXLOCK DRILLING MOST LIKELY MADE BY WILHELM KRIEGHOFF. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4" x 12 Ga., 2 3/4" x 8x57JR (318 groove dia.). S# 3932. Bbls. 26 3/4"] w/ full length matted rib mounted w/ pop up rear & silver bead front sights. Bottoms of bbls. stamped w/ German nitro proofs w/ proof date of February 1925. Rifle bbl. stamped "WK" (Wilhelm Krieghoff ?). Casehardened, scallop backed boxlock action w/ intercepting safety sears also features side safety, top tang rifle selector, pin cocking indicators, bushed shotgun strikers, crossbolt third fastener, side clips & dbl. triggers (front set). Action engraved w/ near full coverage nicely shaded scrolled acanthus surrounding game scenes on sides; bugling stag stepping over fallen log on left & wild boar in woodlands on right. Acanthus leaves have had highlights burnished through case colors adding depth. Trigger guard is of horn. Lightly marbled & figured European walnut horn sunburst capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14" over horn basket weave buttplate. Stock also features shadow line right hand cheekpiece, side panels w/ inlet horn drop points, point pattern checkering at grip as well as a sling loop, matching that on bbls. & spring loaded cartridge trap on toeline. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. Bore diameters: left - .720, restriction: .043 (extra full), right - .720, restriction: .045 (extra full). Minimum wall thickness: left - .028, right - .030. DAH: 2 3/4". DAC: 1 1/2. WEIGHT: 7 lbs. 5 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: canvas leather trimmed soft carrying case by Schoverling, Daly & Gales. Side pocket contains leather sling. Fine condition, one leather strap partially detached. CONDITION: extra fine bbls. retain over 95% original blue w/ some nicks & scratches. Action retains approx. 95% original case hardening color, silvered on beads & on bottom at bit from normal handling wear. Right side of stock has 2 very small hairline cracks extending from action. Forend latch is mostly silver. Stocks retain nearly all of their original rubbed oil finish w/ areas thinning & w/ a few light marks. Checkering is very lightly worn. There is no noted damage to horn parts. Bores are very fine, shiny. Rifle bore is sharp & shiny. Action is tight. Set trigger will not set (needs cleaning?). 12 Ga.
