Cal. 16 Ga. 2 9/16". S# 13926. 29 1/2" dovetailed barrels are fitted with slightly raised matted game rib. Makers name & address are marked on top of each barrel. Barrel flats are stamped with Imperial German nitro proofs and later Austrian nitro proofs with a date of 1945. Case hardened sidelock action has safety lever mounted on left lockplate & also features crossbolt 3rd fastener, side clips, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators & double triggers. Action & lockplates are engraved with about 30% coverage well cut Germanic scroll within line, small scroll & wiggle borders. Makers name does not appear on lockplates however breechface is stamped with "H K" & anchor Kreighoff logo. Blued trigger guard is also scroll engraved. Capped pistol grip buttstock of very finely marbled & fiddle figured European walnut measures 14 3/8" over ribbed hard rubber buttplate. Stock also features shadowline right hand cheekpiece, multi-point pattern skip line checkering at grip & a vacant silver oval along with sling loop on toeline. Matching long splinter ejector forend with inlet horn tip has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .671 R .670 RESTRICTION L .033 (full) R .028 (I mod). Wall thickness L .027 R .028. STOCK: DAH: 2 13/16" DAC: 1 1/2". CAST: approx 1/2" off. LOP: 14 3/8". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 7 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black plastic case. CONDITION: good to very good as mostly refinished, barrels retaining nearly all of a good quality reblack, engraving somewhat softened. Action has scant traces of case hardening color but is mostly gray. Stocks retain most of an old oil refinish, with a large number of marks both light & heavy, checkering lightly worn at grip, considerable worn on forend with some areas smooth. Bores show considerable pitting throughout. Action is very slightly loose, barrels appear to be on face. Ejectors are strong & in time. Forend shows some cracks near iron, horn tip an old replacement. (22-5048/MGM). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
