GAME GUNS WITH CASE. 1) Cal. 12 Ga., 3". Bbls. 27 3/4". S# 22-03-01-99 Made in 1999. A dynamic true pair offering. Gun no. 1 w/ matted flat top rib w/ white front bead, gold inlaid "1" & gold inlaid "ARMAS BEREZI EIBAR". Sm. ring of engraving near breech end. Bbls. of chopper lump construction w/ S# & proof info on polished flats w/ self opening system ahead of forend latch. Slim beavertail forend checkered in point pattern w/ floral & scroll engraved irons has Anson type pushbutton release w/ gold inlaid "1" towards tip. Full sidelock action w/ full coverage engraving. Lg. pheasants on left lock plate in farm & mountain scene. Bottom of action w/ lg. portrait of dog w/ fallen woodcock in his mouth & full coverage scroll engraving. Right lock plate w/ burst of quail in farm scene & engraver's signature "Pedro Mari Arreitunandia" towards bottom. Gun made w/ double triggers (front articulated), auto ejectors, auto safety & self opening system. Bbl. bolsters w/ side clips are full coverage rose & scroll engraved as is top lever w/ gold inlaid "1" at center. Top tang in near full coverage scroll engraving w/ relief "S" in front of scroll engraved safety slide. Rolled edge trigger guard is full coverage engraved w/ rose & scroll pattern. Nicely figured perch belly walnut buttstock checkered in point pattern thought the wrist w/ sm. brass shield toward toe and terminates w/ a thin red "Old English" brand pad. DAC: 1 1/2". DAH: 2 1/4". LOP: 14 1/2". Right: Bore diameter: .726. Restriction: .017. Minimum wall thickness: .032. Left: Bore diameter: .726. Restriction: .033 Minimum wall thickness: .036. Weight: CONDITION: excellent as lightly field used. Bbls. retain nearly all of their original blue. Coin finished action is excellent. Forend w/ grain separation on right side toward front & minor loss toward tip, otherwise sound and excellent. Buttstock is sound w/ most of its original finish, though there are a number of light scratches on left side towards butt which should steam out. Bores are bright & shiny. Mechanics are crisp. Bores bright & shiny. Mechanics are crisp. Pedro Mari Arreitunandia was well known as perhaps the foremost gun engraver in Spain in the late 20th & early 21st centuries having passed in 2010.
