German made single-action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum, and manufactured circa 1965. Imported by Herter's out of Waseca, MN, the Single Six was manufactured by J.P. Sauer & Sohn (which later became Sig Sauer) in Western Germany. These revolvers were known to be over built and good quality, but they did not meet sales expectations. Interestingly, Herter's was also in a legal dispute over the model name "Single-Six" with Ruger. Pistol features a blued finish, an approximately 6-1/2" round barrel, serrated raised fixed blade front sight, micrometer adjustable square notched rear sight, fluted six-round cylinder, bird's head style ejector rod button, collard cylinder pin head, serrated curved trigger, in-the-white hammer with a serrated spur, frame mounted firing pin, smooth grip straps, and two-piece black checkered grips with silver-toned Herter's medallions on both sides. The original blued finish retained is approximately 96% with some minor edge wear, some losses on the trigger guard and frame, and patina showing on the trigger guard and frame as well. Some of the finish is taking on a plum patina. Metal displays no deformation, but there was some light oxidative speckling on the barrel. Action is smooth and crisp with a tight lock-up. Bore is bright with strong rifling, and the cylinder chambers are also bright. The grip polymer is in very good to excellent condition with very light handling marks, light wear, and a minor dent on the right grip panel.
Condition is NRA Good.
