High Altai Argali Replica Horns
This old ram instinctively knew his days were numbered. It was time to find a safe place to spend his final days. He found a small cave and somehow pushed his massive horns through the opening. He managed to turn around in this small space so he could spend his remaining days viewing the magnificent mountains he once roamed. Time passed and some years later, Lloyd Zeman, late owner of Safari Outfitters, made a remarkable discovery. He was hunting the Altai Mountains of Western Mongolia, he noticed a small cave and curiously looked inside. He was too large to fit through the opening, but his Mongolian guide was small enough to fit. He squeezed through the opening and pushed out the weathered horns. This auction item is an exact replica of those horns. The originals hang in the headquarters of Safari Outfitters in Wyoming. The horns measure 60 4/8' x 18 4/8'. This incredible set of horns will compliment any trophy room and will be a great conversation piece for years to come! To hunt a ram of this caliber today a hunter would be looking at a price well over $100K! Support the great conservation efforts of SCI and bid high on this great trophy!
