Hopi Polychrome Navasie Pottery Bowl
This Hopi Polychrome Navasie Pottery Bowl is attributed to Priscilla, daughter-in-law of Joy Navasie, the second Frog Woman. Hand built and painted with traditional patterns, it was fired and stone polished. It has a crack that was not professionally repaired and is 9-1/4" wide and 2-1/2" tall. Signed and hallmarked with frog & tadpole, circa 1980's. This Hopi Polychrome Navasie Pottery Bowl would still be a nice piece to display or to have restored! There is no information available on Priscilla. Her extended family is referenced in Schaaf's, "Hopi-Tewa Pottery, 500 Artist Biographies" & Hayes & Blom, "Southwestern Pottery: Anasazi to Zuni".
