Huet Paris Modele 1933 Type 1 8X30 Binoculars
Huet Paris Modele 1933 Type 1 8X30 Binoculars Compared to the Krauss Modele 1933 Type 2 in collection, this binocular was, upon purchase, collimated and usable but with a clouded view due to prism separation. Although the prisms had completely separated, the prism cage kept them securely aligned and protected from moving around and chipping. In the right eyepiece there is a horizontal axis graticule with graduations of 20, 40 and 60 on both sides of a center 0. I believe the marking Dm-1V on the left prism cover is a French metric system reference to the graticule's graduations i.e. Dm = decimetre (1/10 metre) and V = Vingtiemes (1/20 degree). It has a 5 element ocular like the BBT Krauss 8X30. The build quality of this binocular is extremely high as evidenced by the uniquely designed and meticulously crafted prism cage The ocular assembly is also exceptionally well-crafted and weatherproof with numerous metal rings and gaskets and focusing by means of linear movement of the ocular tube (see comments for "Huet Extra Lumineuse 7X 7X22 (View 1)").
