IMPERIAL GERMAN REGIMENTAL STEIN FOR THE 2nd
CAVALRY REGIMENT. Stein measures 10 1/2" in height. The body of the stein reads “Hoch zu Ross die Kavallerie, auf dem Posten spat und fruh.” around the top. The base reads “Anton Staudinger.” The central portion reads “Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit im Kgl. Bayr. 2. Chev.-Rgt. ,,Taris” 4.Esk. 1905-08. Dillingen.” and also shows a cavalry patrol crossing the countryside. The base has a lithophane of a bearded gentleman in uniform. The elaborate pewter lid depicts a leaning against his horse. CONDITION: generally light wear. However, there is a bit of enamel loss to a few words and the base ring. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18591/BF). $250-400.
