IMPERIAL GERMAN REGIMENTAL STEIN FROM A STRASSBURG
INFANTRY REGIMENT. Stein measures 12 1/2" in height. The body of the stein reads "Bei der 2. Comp. 1. Unterels. Inftr. Regmt. No 132. in Strassburg 1908-10." near the base. The top reads "Wer deutsches Land kaf freu bemacht hat als Soldat was mitgemacht". The central portion includes vivid polychromatic scenes of an infantry unit a soldier bidding farewell to family, a soldier saying farewell to his wife, a firing line, and a field cooking scene. The base has a lithophane that shows a soldier holding hands with his wife. Elaborate pewter domed lid is topped with two soldiers shaking hands. CONDITION: light wear overall.
