IMPERIAL GERMAN REGIMENTAL STEIN FROM THE 6th
COMPANY OF THE ARTILLERY GUARD REGIMENT. Stein measures 11" in height. The body of the stein reads "Spandau Zur Erinnerung in meine Dienstzeit" around the base. The top reads "Bruder stosst die Glaser an, hoch lebe der Reservemann" & "6. Komp. Garde Fuss Arte: Regiment 1/2 L." The central portion includes vivid polychromatic scenes of soldiers loading a cannon, on leave & at target practice. The base has a lithophane that shows a soldier and his wife with a train in the background. The elaborate pewter lid is topped with a cannon being attended by two soldiers. CONDITION: light wear overall. The finial has wear to the helmet spikes. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18593/BF). $350-550.
