42 PUMP SHOTGUN. Cal. 410, 3". S# 21475. When talking about special order Winchesters, the saying is “Never say never”. This full nickel Model 42 is a noteworthy example of what was possible. Could this unusual skeet configuration field choked gun be the only nickel M42 ever ordered? Bbl. 28" solid rib w/ fixed Mod choke. Beavertail forearm & straight grip skeet style stock w/ 22 LPI factory checkering. LOP:13 7/8" over original buttplate. S# indicates 1936 mfg. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: hand written letter by a former Waco, TX owner relays the known history of this special shotgun. Originally delivered to the Clifton-Simpson general store located on the town square in Waco, TX, likely ordered by the store owner. In the late 1940s, it was given by the then owner to the Waco Gun Club as high overall award for its annual Club Skeet Shoot. CONDITION: retains over 98% of its factory full nickel finish, showing light scratches & scattered sm. spots of bubbling. Original wood finish shows scattered scratches, finish chips & handling marks. Sound mechanics. Bright, near excellent bore. (22-1070/DS). CURIO. $10,000-15,000.
