Standard Winchester “Yellow Boy” w/ tacked designs in forestock & buttstock & sm. inset tag as seen in photograph. “US DEPT OF INDIAN AFFAIRS / APPROVED SALE / NO. 137 / RIFLE & AMMO / INDIAN POLICE 1888”. Buttplate trap retains 3 piece iron & brass cleaning rod. Tacked Indian attributed guns are always suspect, but the unusual tag is original. CONDITION: good overall, brass well worn w/ light mustard patina. Stocks also worn w/ hand worn patina. Lever latch is a replacement. Bbl. & other iron components have dark, gray patina, pitting. Mechanically fine w/ pitted, rifled bore. (01-19455/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
