Made with very lightly filed tapered concave game rib w/ brass front bead, bbls. are of chopper lump construction & have gold inlaid "1" near breach on rib & sm. ring of engraving. Blued bbl. flats w/ Belgian proof marks & bbls. stamped "Boehler" on bottom of tubes. Checkered splinter forend w/ scroll engraved irons & rose colored & yellow gold family crest at center in uncheckered diamond. Forearm w/ Anson type pushbutton release & SN w/ gold inlaid "1" on interior. Gun made w/ double triggers (front trigger articulated), automatic ejectors, non auto safety. Full sidelock action nicely engraved in high quality English best rose & scroll engraving w/ maker's name at front of left lock & "ANVERS" at front. Polished water table w/ S#, Belgian proof marks & sm. import mark. Bottom of action continues w/ rose & scroll and has maker's name & city in scroll frame. Beaded fences, top lever & top tang are nicely scroll engraved, lever w/ gold inlaid "1" & top tang w/ gold inlaid "S" in front of safety slide. Trigger guard w/ rose & scroll pattern on bow & scroll through the long tang. Straight grip English walnut buttstock checkered in 2 point pattern through the wrist & terminates w/ a lightly checkered butt. Stock slightly cast off. DAC: 1 9/16". DAH: 2 1/4". LOP: 14 5/8". Left: Bore diameter: .741. Restriction: .043 (full). Minimum wall thickness: .024. Right: Bore diameter: .742. Restriction: .025 (mod). Minimum wall thickness:.023. Weight: 6 lbs, 15 oz. CONDITION: very good as partially restored. Bbls. retain more than 95% of a professionally restored finish, ribs ring well. Action toned to gray w/ no original case color remaining. Engraving mostly still crisp & some minor staining noted. Triggerguard is mostly bright. Back tang screw is a modern replacement & overall screws show some minor marring. Stocks are very good w/ scattered, impressions, scratches & hunting bumps from years of dedicated service & retain most of an older restored finish w/ beginning grain separation emanating from both locks & behind top tang. Forearm w/ checkering competently cleaned has very minor losses on right side & a sm. impression at left tip & retains most of an older restored finish. Bores w/ some scattered pitting. Mechanics are functional though the gun would benefit from gentle cleaning. Ejectors are in time. Gun is nice and tight & on face. At quick glance this gun looks alot like a Purdey and was of very high quality when new. (22-1179/JL). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
