PISTOL BELTS. These belts were used through the Spanish-American War Era. 1) KHAKI OFFICER'S BELT. Belt has brass U.S. square belt plate. Plate is marked on tongue "ANSON MILLS PAT. FEB. 1, 81." End tab is marked "PAT. MILLS & ORNDORFF". Belt is ID'd on the inside "Maj. Seebach. Khaki web saber straps w/ brass hooks. CONDITION: belt is in very good w/ light staining. Brass parts have light wear turning patina. 2) BLUE MODEL 1887 OFFICER'S PISTOL BELT. Belt has loops for 38 cal. revolver ammunition. Square U.S. belt plate. Tongue is marked "ANSON MILLS PAT. FEB, 1, 81.". Tabs are marked "MILLS & ORNDORFF" plus numerous patent dates. Plain belt w/out sword attachment. CONDITION: belt has light wear & staining. Stitching is tight. Brass fittings have moderate wear turning patina. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Edward Scott Meadows. (02-22168/RW). $1,000-1,500.
