CARTRIDGE POUCHES DATED 1918-1978 FOR VARIOUS PISTOLS. Items may be referenced in the book U.S. MILITARY HOLSTERS AND RELATED ACCOUTREMENTS by Edward Scott Meadows. 1) EXPERIMENTAL FIRST AID & CARTRIDGE POUCH - Khaki canvas pouch is marked underneath flap "PROPERTY U.S. NAVY". Flap is secured by single plain snap. When opened the pouch has 6 elastic loops for revolver cartridges which drop down and leaves the 2 inner flaps, also secured by a single plain snap. Flaps would hold a first aid packet. Canvas pouch has a green stitched edging and is equipped w/ the 1910 belt hook. 2) Khaki canvas revolver ammunition pouch. Pouch is unmarked & has 2 pockets, each of which would hold a half moon clip of 3 rds. 2 half moon clips are provided. The flap is secures by a single "lift the dot" fastener. The pouch is made to fit a belt 1 3/4" wide & is not equipped w/ a belt hook. This pouch has notably more wear and staining than the balance of the items in this lot. Stitching is tight and it is in serviceable condition. 3) 2 Green web U.S.M.C. 2 pocket mag. pouches for the 1911 Colt pistol. The pouches are unmarked except for the contractor marks on the back both of which are "S.FROEHLICH CO." and are dated "1943". The flaps are secured by "lift the dot" fasteners. Pouches are made to slide over a pistol belt & have positioning snaps. 4) White 2 pocket Model 1911 mag. pouch. Pouch is marked inside flap "POCKET AMMUNITION, / MAGAZINE, 45 CAL. PISTOL / DSA 100-72-C-1473 / FSN 8465-261-4983 / KINGS POINT MFG. CO. INC.". The pouch has a hang tag marked inside with the DSA # "FIRST ARTICLE", "KINGS POINT" address. Pouch has seal attached. Seal marked on one side "DPSC" and marked on reverse "58788". Pouch is accompanied w/ a copy of a defense logistics agency letter stating corrections needed in the pouches under contract, dated August 7 1978. White canvas pouch w/ rolled edging and brass "lift the dot" fastener. Pouch made to slide on pistol belt. 5) White canvas 2 pocket mag. pouch for 1911 pistol. Pouch is marked under flap "POCKET AMMO MAG 2 / 45 CAL PISTOL LOT 01 / DLA 100-? / (faint) NSN#". Pouch is accompanied by a letter similar to #4, dated 1978. White pouch w/ rolled canvas edge & brass "lift the dot" fastener which is partially detached from body of pouch. Pouch made to slide over pistol belt. 6) White canvas 2 pocket mag. pouch for Model 1911 pistol. Pouch is unmarked, has rolled canvas edges and brass "lift the dot" fastener. 7) Khaki 2 pocket web mag. pouch for Model 1911 pistol. Pouch is marked on back "SEPT. 1918", "RUSSELL" in oval. Flap is secured by 2 "lift the dot" fasteners. Pouch is made to slide over pistol belt. 8) 4 - Two pocket web and canvas mag. pouches for 1911 pistol. Pockets are secured by 2 "lift the dot" fasteners. Mfg. markings for each individual pouch under canvas flap as follows: "L.C.C.& CO. 1918 / L.C.C.35". "L.D.INC. 5-18 / L.D.13", "LONG 8-18", "P.B. & CO. / JAN. 1918". 9) 2 Pocket green web pouch for 1911 pistol. Flap is marked on outside "U.S." and marked on back "AVERY 1943". Pouch slides over pistol belt w/ "lift the dot" fastener. CONDITION: unless otherwise noted pouches are in good to very good condition w/ light wear & occasional sm. stains.
