Cal. 45 ACP. S# 2087699. Bbl. 5" blued National Match with drawing number and pistol serial number at port. Right leg has boxed "C"; left leg has "M" at front and "P" at rear. Correct "S" marked link. Frame manufactured 1945 and used by Springfield to build this National Match pistol in 1962. 3,025 manufactured and 172 sold through DCM. Per 1962 Camp Perry Army Weapons Command booklet all facets of the pistol are correct. Rear sight is correct Micro model having crossed cannons on left side at base. Numerous proper proofs additionally having "S" on right side of frame directly above front of trigger plus "BA,T and T" by top front of right grip. Left side of frame has original "FJA" inspection mark. Front strap is checkered plus Type 3 checkered arched mainspring housing which is correct for early Ithaca pistols. Forward portion of slide and area around slide stop cut have halo of extra hardening. Just below port, slide numbered "7699". Feed ramp polished and barrel throated. Fully checkered walnut grips. MAGS: 1 good blued 7 round by manufacturer 1M291. CONDITION: very good to excellent appearance as refinished by Springfield during NM build. Occasional faint marks and very minimal spots of high point edge wear. Slight function wear from rubbing by dust cover and cycling. Very faint hand wear to very good plus grips. Near excellent bore. NM barrel bushing (electro numbered to pistol) appropriately tight fitted to barrel but with average fit to slide. (22-4217/NW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
