ITHACA 4E FLUES SINGLE BARREL TRAP GUN.

Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 272603. Bbl. 34". It is estimated that about 4,700 of these guns were made before the Flues was discontinued in 1922; the vast majority were no. 4 grade. This gun has 34" bbl. w/ slightly raised ventillated rib & deep star engraving on sides of monobloc. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ serial number & "SD". Boxlock type Flues action w/ locking bolt engaging dual bbl. extensions has S#, "SD", grade & ga. information on watertable. Action is engraved in usual Grade 4 style w/ near full coverage, lg. shaded acanthus within geometric borders which surrounds scenes on sides w/ a trap shooter on field on left & American eagle on right. Maker's name is on left & address is on right. S# is on trigger guard tang. Custom pistol grip buttstock of nicely crotch figured American walnut measures 14 3/4" over black "Pachmayr" pad. Multipoint pattern checkering is at grip. Original flared beavertail ejector forend w/ inlet ebony tip has push button release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: .731". Restriction: .032" (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: .060". STOCK: DAH: 1 7/8". DAC: 1 5/8". LOP: 14 3/4". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT: 8 lb. 13 oz. CONDITION: good. Bbl. retaining maybe 40% of what appears to be original blue w/ scattered marks & freckling. Monobloc area showing cleaning & staining. Action is cleaned to pewter gray, engraving somewhat softened. Custom buttstock retains most of its oil finish. Forend refinished & retains most of that finish. Forend checkering haphazardly recut. Bore is shiny w/ some pitting or marks near breech end. No visible dents. Action is tight. Screws show considerable use.(22-2133/MGM). CURIO. $700-1,000.
