Interesting lacquer and Pearl shell inlaid inkwell and pen stand with drawer probably Japanese or Chinese made for export in the 19th century. The condition is very good with some small areas of damage and loss of some ornamentation. The style of the exterior construction and lacquer is oriental although the scrolling made to appeal to European taste. From a noted British collectors estate. Note: two glass inkwells of art deco period were added at a later date. Est.: $175-$350
