Italian Reproduction of a Brass-Frame Navy Percussion Revolver, with wood case and accoutrements, #519214, .44 cal., blued 7-3/8'' octagonal barrel, with brass post front (and hammer-notch rear) sights marked ''Black Powder Only 44 Cal'' on left flat, and with the Pietta name, address and various proofmarks on right; the rebated round cylinder is rolled with a naval battle scene; brass frame (with associated proofmarks on right side) and gripstraps; varnished one-piece walnut grips. Condition is near excellent. Barrel and cylinder retain most original blue with slight roughness and dings on right side at wedge and light muzzle wear, clear markings and cylinder engraving; bright brass shows scratches on left side of frame; lever, hammer and trigger showing nice case colors. Grips retain most varnish with light handling marks and nice coloration. Action is smooth; bore is clean with distinct rifling. Case of light oak has a cast brass oval ''CS'' belt buckle affixed to its top, is lined in green felt, and contains a copper and brass ''Navy'' style powder flask, an empty percussion cap tin, some cast balls, and a small brass button marked ''CSA'', all in fine condition.
