SCOPE. Cal. 16 Ga. 2 3/4" / 8x57 JRS. S# 331137. The 25 5/8" bbls. are fitted w/ slip on dovetail scope bases, popup U-notch rear & silver bead front sights in full length matted rib. Maker’s name is on the top of each bbl. along w/ “MADE IN GERMANY”. Steel info & cal. is also stamped. Bottom of bbls. are stamped w/ 1960 German Nitro proofs for 16 Ga., 2 3/4" & 8x57 JRS rifle cartridge. Coin finished Blitz action w/ rifle/shotgun selector on top tang & Greener type side safety also features pin cocking indicators on top, crossbolt 3rd fastener, sideclips & dbl. triggers (front set). Action has stamped in scroll engraving surrounded by stamped in sm. scroll borders. Bottom of action is marked “ORIGINAL SAUER”. Trigger guard is steel. Very lightly figured European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13 3/4" over Sauer Suhl logo hard rubber buttplate. Stock features slight hogback to comb, shadowline right hand cheekpiece, hard rubber gripcap, point pattern checkering & sling loop. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. Drilling is mounted w/ Hensoldt Diatal 4x 32 rail scope w/ 3 post reticle without windage in slip on type bases w/ lever releases, rear w/ windage adj. MEASUREMENTS: SHOTGUN BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .666", L .665". Restriction: R .020" (MOD), L .020" (MOD). Min. Wall Thickness: R .034", L .030". STOCK: DAH: 2 11/16". DA REAR OF HOGBACK: 2". DAC: 1 5/8". LOP: 13 3/4". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT WITHOUT SCOPE.: 7 lb. 1 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: with black plastic case. CONDITION: good, bbls. retaining traces of original blue are mostly gray patina, overall w/ frosting. Action has traces of original French gray, is mostly pewter gray. Stocks retain most of what appears to be their original oil finish w/ a lg. number of marks & sm. dents, mostly on left side of buttstock. Checkering shows moderate wear w/ some areas on forend worn smooth. Shotgun bores are bright & shiny w/ some noted leading. Rifle bore looks to be fine, shiny throughout. Action is tight. Mechanically good. Scope has scratches & marks in exterior lacquer. Optically very fine w/ a couple of noted hairs at upper left. (22-4874/MGM). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
