Cal. 12 (2 3/4") x 12 (2 3/4") x 8 x 57 JR. S# 268028. 27 3/4". Bbls. are engraved w/ cal. on full length top rib which is also fitted w/ pop up rear sight & silver bead front along w/ claw scope bases. Bottoms of bbls. are stamped w/ German Nitro proofs for 12 Ga. & 8 x 57 w/ a proof date of 8/28. Action, once case hardened, has been coin finished & features backspring sidelocks w/ safety button located at rear portion of left lock, rifle selector is on top tang, pin type cocking indicator for rifle bbl. on top of action, raised rib cocking indicators for shotgun bbls., sideclips, crossbolt 3rd fastener, bushed shotgun strikers, & double triggers (front set) are featured. Action is engraved w/ 40% coverage well cut shaded scroll w/ in sm. scroll & line borders surrounding game scenes on sides which extend onto lockplates. On left side, there are a pair of pheasant in open woodlands w/ scene blending into vignette of standing stag & feeding hind on lockplate. Right side depicts a pair of ducks flying over marsh on action & roebuck & doe on lockplate. Makers name & address are on bottom. Well marbled European walnut steel capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14 3/16" over "S&SS" embossed hard rubber buttplate. Stock features sm. right hand shadowline cheekpiece & point pattern checkering at grip. A sling eye on toeline matches that on bbl. Matching splinter forend has Deely release. Bbls. are fitted w/ Redfield 1 3/4 - 5X "Widefield" scope w/ duplex reticle in custom made stainless(?) steel claw rings. MEASUREMENTS: R .730 L .734 Choke: R .041 (FULL). L .047 (FULL). Min. wall thickness: R .023 L .021. STOCK: LOP 14 3/16". DAH 2 3/4". DAC 1 11/16". Cast: Neutral. WEIGHT: w/ out scope 7 lb. 11 oz. CONDITION: good to fine as refinished. Bbls. retaining over 90% of a correct reblue. Action & lockplates cleaned to coin finish, engraving slightly softened. Stocks retain nearly all of an old oil refinish. Sharp edges mostly retained, checkering partially recut (left side of grip & forend). Bores are very fine w/ slight evidence of dent removal in right bbl. about 16" from muzzle. Rifle bbl. is fine, shiny, strong rifling w/ a few scattered pits & some erosion at throat. Action is tight, bbls. are on face. Bottom inch of buttplate missing. Scope has previous ring marks on body & a few light scratches. Optically slightly hazy. (20-2385/MGM34). CURIO. $1,750-2,750.
