J. Stevens No. 425 High-Power Lever Action Rifle, #2513, .25 Rem. cal., 22" round barrel with 2/3-length magazine, factory dovetailed blade front and standard elevator rear sights, blue finish, smooth walnut two-piece straight grip stock with a checkered steel crescent buttplate. Rifle is topped with a one-piece mount, Weaver rings, and a Weaver El Paso marked V 4.5 fixed-power rifle scope in gloss blue, with a fine wire reticle providing clear and crisp optics. The No. 425 was mfg'd only from 1910-1917. Rifle is in near fine overall condition retaining approx. 80%-85% thinning factory blue drifting to dark patina. Barrel has wear at the muzzle and an area of light surface rust. Receiver shows edgewear and general thinning of finish. There are a couple of extra holes on the barrel, just ahead of the front ring, which have been filled with tap screws. Under the lever, the lower tang is stamped "L.N. JAY/K.C. W MO." Stock is good with considerable flaking of finish on the forend. Action works well, bore is good. Est.: $800-$1,200. (C&R)
