PERCUSSION. Cal. 58. NSN. Bbl. 41" swamped oct., mounted w/ U notch rear & brass bead front sights is stamped "J WORLY" (Berks County, Pa 1788-1838) & "CR". Bbl. has been converted back to flint from drum & nipple. Trade quality lock marked "DREPPERY" is in original flint. Full length stock of nicely tiger stripped dark stained maple has Berkes County style extreme Roman nose & is brass mounted. Heavy buttplate has 2 1/2" return. Trigger guard has curled spur at rear of grip. Striped wooden ramrod is held by 2 beaded pipes & matching thimble. A German silver upside down crescent moon engraved w/ human face is on left side above fluted cheekpiece & German silver crest plate is at top of grip. CONDITION: bbl. mostly dark brown patina w/ considerable pitting w/ silver highlights showing on high spots. Lock exhibits brown patina w/ silver highlights. Wood has light refinish overall, lock mortise w/ added resin at rear of lock. Wood w/ old repairs including 2/3 replacement wood in butt at rear. Wood replaced along right of bbl. channel. Rough pitted bore. Lock is operable. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19728/MGM). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
