REVOLVER. Cal. 9x22Rmm. S# 40018. Bbl. 4 3/4" w/ fixed sights. Top break. DAO. Very nice condition; standard production Model 26 revolver. Frame marked on right side w/ Koishikawa Arsenal interlocking circles, 26 Type Japanese characters & S#. Cyl. numbered at rear "24". Grip frame marked inside on left "724". Left grip marked "724". Checkered Mahogany grips. Lanyard ring on butt which is marked w/ tiny acceptance marks. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather clamshell holster w/ ammunition pouch & shoulder strap. Holster flap marked inside w/ several Japanese characters. Correct cleaning rod is present. Also included are 26 rds. of original Japanese loaded ammunition. Rds. are not head stamped & are loaded w/ rnd. nose lead bullets. Ammunition has turned mostly patina w/ areas of verdigris. CONDITION: revolver retains a high degree of its original blue finish including fire blue on the trigger & hammer. There is light high point wear & a sm. amount of holster wear near the muzzle plus scattered spots of light oxidation throughout while leaving crisp markings and an attractive appearance. The revolver does however have a sm. blemish at the checkered end of the swing out sideplate on the left side due to improper attempt at disassembly, however this does not detract from the appearance of the gun. Grips are in good condition w/ several sm. scattered handling marks & very lightly worn diamonds. Very good shiny bore. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (23-71/RW).
