SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 31238. Bbl. 7 1/2" marked "-COLT'S PT. F.A. MF'G. CO. HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.-" on top. Inspectors mark and "P" are on bottom and in front of cylinder pin. Case hardened frame with patent dates and "US" on left side, has inspectors mark on bottom above serial number. All numbers match and serial number is on blued cylinder which is also stamped "JTC". Inspectors initials are not observed on grip frame but are on bottom of grip with large "JTC" cartouches on each side. CONDITION: fine with evidence of poor storage. Metal parts retain well over 60% of their original finishes but show overall flaking, spots of blue loss on barrel, oxidation and cleaning leaving some areas of frosting and light pitting. Grips appear to have a light oil refinish with open grain as inspectors marks are not sharp. Bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling throughout. Mechanically crisp.
