Japanese Nagoya Arsenal Type 14 Nambu Semi-Automatic Pistol with Modified Military Revolver Holster, #85857, 8mm Nambu cal., 4.6" barrel, blued finish, hardwood grips with horizontal grooves, inverted-"V" front sight, fixed rear sight with trapezoidal shaped notch, and fixed lanyard ring mounted to the rear of the frame. Includes one blue magazine with grooved aluminum base, numbered "799" on the spine. Nagoya Arsenal maker's mark is located on right side of the frame, along with "15.11" (November 1940 production). Left side of the frame marked with Japanese characters for "Type 14". Visible matching numbers on bolt, cocking piece, and leftt side of the trigger. No import marks. In what appears to be a modified French Model 1873 revolver holster, with ammunition pocket attached to the front. Holster has been modified by removing the front flap and suspension rings from the back. Pistol is in fair condition, retaining approx. 65%-70% toning blue mixed with dark patina; scattered spots of light oxidation, freckling, and surface blemishes throughout. Pitting on the barrel has been cleaned, leaving it primarily gray along the sides and bottom. Factory markings are clear. Grips are very good, showing moderate age and handling wear. Action functions smoothly. Bore with some areas of very mild frosting; rifling is very good and well-defined. Holster is good as modified, showing typical age and wear. Est.: $600-$800. (C&R/PPT)
