Japanese Nambu Type 14 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #65467, 8mm Nambu cal., 4" barrel, blued finish, smooth wood grips, fixed rear sight with square groove, inverted "V"-shaped front sight drift adjustable for windage, no magazine. Marked with "Type 14" in kanji, arsenal proof marks, and dated Showa 19.12 (Dec. 1944). Lever safety with stamped markings in slide. Round cocking knob at back of slide with square-shaped lanyard ring on back of frame. Large trigger guard, typical of late production. Smooth wood grips are a feature of late-war last ditch mfg. Condition is good, the action frozen with old grease, and the bore in need of a good cleaning. The original bluing remaining is approx. 95% with some high edgewear to the front and back of the slide, and slight muzzle wear. Pistol shows typical late-war rough machining and finishing. There is a line in the slide, frame and left grip panel from the safety lever being used. Wood grips show age and darkening with numerous dings and light depressions. Cocking knob shows some flattening to a few of the diamonds on the checkered surface. Grip screws show light turning and slight high edgewear to the bluing. Overall a nice gun that looks like it just came out of a veteran's footlocker. Est.: $600-$900. (C&R)
