‘Second Series’ WWII era Japanese military striker fired semi-automatic service pistol chambered in 8mm Nambu, manufactured at the Nagoya Arsenal circa 1944. Features a blued finish, 4.6" barrel, dovetailed inverted 'v' front sight, fixed square notch rear sight, rounded trigger, large trigger guard, knurled cocking piece, manual safety on the left side of the frame, magazine disconnect safety, push button magazine release, 8 round magazine, steel frame with lanyard loop on the rear and grooved wood grips. Matching serial numbers are found on the barrel extension, bolt, cocking piece, locking block, trigger guard, magazine catch, magazine, frame and both grip panels. No import marks have been observed. Includes a matching spare magazine and a 1947 dated Safety Inspection Certificate issued to Richard Hayes of Detroit, MI. Pistol retains approximately 90% of its original blued finish showing thinning, a bright drag line on the frame from the safety lever and a small amount of scattered light surface rust. Action is sound, the bore is excellent, and the wood grips are fine. Condition is NRA Very Good. ***C&R Firearm***
