John Nelson Cooper Panamint Custom Skinning Knife with Sheath, 7" blade features thumb notched spine, with desirable "COOPER" maker's mark. This blade stamp was used for only one year, in 1968. Overall length is 12". Handle is made of brown micarta with brass spacers, brass half guard and pommel. Original brown leather belt sheath is double stitched, with brass snap; backside of the belt loop is stamped "COOPER". Knife is in near excellent overall condition with clear maker's mark, a little mild scratching to the cutting edge; no nicks or blemishes. Brass shows moderate toning. One side of the guard with an area of light discoloration caused by the removal of old verdigris. Micarta with a few minor scratches and handling marks. Sheath is good, displaying general age and wear, with surface scuffs and scratches, darkening at the throat, mild verdigris around the brass hardware; stitching and seams are tight.
