Kamchatka: Spring Bear Hunt for up to 2 Bears
Kamchatka is known for huge brown bears! Our friends at HuntInEurope.com have donated a Spring Brown Bear hunt for one hunter. Spring hunting on the largest brown bear in the world is done with snowmobiles (known as motor sleighs in Kamchatka) finished off by stalking on foot. Daily 3 to 10 bears can be encountered so that the hunter has the possibility to choose a large trophy. The bear population has rapidly increased in Kamchatka over the last decade. Although one may expect to encounter younger bears in accessible areas along roads or navigable rivers, larger bears keep to remote areas away from roads and navigable rivers.
The winning bidder will hunt in a very remote concession in the central part of Kamchatka on the shore of the Pacific Ocean, located between two National Parks (Kronocky and Kljucevskoj). These areas can only be reached by helicopter. The concession hosts a large population of old, large bears in the 9-10 feet range.

The hunt may be scheduled in May 2022 or May 2023. Hunters will start their hunt from Petropavlovsk. Transfer is by car from Petropavlovsk to the heliport in Kozirevsk (about 8-hour drive). You will proceed by helicopter to the base camp and hunting area (strictly made of tents or small cabins for professional hunters). From there the hunter starts off in snowmobiles to search for the bears, which are easily visible against the blinding white of the snow, even from long distances. After locating bears, the guides will evaluate the size and decide whether to approach the bear.

The professional guides will expertly skin and salt the bear hide after the hunt, which will be delivered to a professional taxidermist upon return to Petropavlovsk. The skull and hide will be shipped through an agency authorized for trophy export to the hunter’s address with all required documents.

Included in the donation is the organization of the hunt, which includes the transfer by road from Petropavlovsk to the heliport, the helicopter transport to and from the base camp/hunting area, transportation by snowmobiles, guides, and all necessary equipment. Each hunter may harvest up to two bears.

Not included in the donation is the trophy fee for the bear ($3900/bear), airfare to/from Kamchatka, hotel stays in Petropavlovsk before or after the hunt, visa, weapon import permits, veterinary certificate, alcoholic drinks, CITES certificate, shipping costs of trophies or gratuities.
