Early American made side-by-side double barrel sidelock shotgun chambered for 2 3/4" 12 gauge shells, circa 1899. Features blued 32" Armor steel barrels with raised & matted concave rib, extractors, brass bead front sight, double triggers, case hardened receiver, checkered top lever, sliding tang safety, checkered walnut splinter forend and pistol grip shoulder stock with black grip cap, serrated hard rubber buttplate & 14 1/4" LOP. Barrels are marked "L.C. SMITH field GRADE" & "HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. M/F/R'S ,FULTON,NY.,U.S.A.". The barrels have turned to a nice even aged dark brown patina with heavy wear around the forend from carrying. The receiver exhibits vivid case colors only in protected areas with the balance dulled exhibiting scattered oxidation. Action is sound, bores are bright scratches extending from the bores, and wood stocks are good with semi-worn checkering, blemishes & a small 3/4" crack extending from the back side of the right lock.
