The Sky 5100 is two packs in one, a 5100 cubic inch long hauler with adequate room for the big trips, convertible to 3500 cubic inch pack to drop weight and size for the shorter bivy or day trips. The bag is convertible to 3500 bivy mode using a unique
top compression strap system with integrated storm flap. Top side seams and storm flap are sewn to create the natural folds for compression of excess fabric and complete weather protection when in 3500 Bivy mode. A large (21 inch) center zip gives quick access to the main bag and the 4 internal pockets on the inside of the zipper, 2 vertically on each side. Equipped with a small front pocket to hold the feet of a tripod, the Sky 5100 is set up for easy access to tripod and spotting scope, which can be stored just under the center zip in the main bag. The lid is a quick detachable, flap style lid of 500 cubic inches for good compression over uneven loads. One of the 1” webbing compression straps on the lid has a male side lock buckle, the other a female, so the ends can be clipped together to create a strap to throw over your shoulder or strap around your waist in situations where you may want to drop your pack and continue with just the necessities in the lid. Like all SG bags, the bag is designed to be used with the load shelf (or without) and compatible with all previous SG Krux frames. $614 Retail
