1) SADDLE. Model 1896 McClellan saddle, 12" seat, russet brown leather, brass hardware, hooded wood stirrups, cinch. CONDITION: good to very good overall
2) SADDLE WW1 era “packers riding saddle”. In 1917 the saddles were issued to cavalryman attached to remount depots whose duty was to “break” the thousands of horses being purchased for the U.S. Army. Fender marked “TOM PADGITT / maker / WACO TEXAS”. Skirt is marked “US / Hess & Hopkins”. CONDITION: very good overall.
3) “SADDLER”S CHEST FOR BATTERY WAGON”, complete including folding legs & metal straps, empty of any tools. CONDITION: good overall.
4) SADDLE15” x 9”x 9” large, lidded leather US embossed saddle & leather gear repair kit, still retains about a dozen heavy duty tools including wood handled sewing needle for leather. CONDITION: fair to good overall.
5) Leather tray of leather working tools. CONDITION: fair to good overall.
6) Pair of canvas & leather US quartermaster marked feed bags. CONDITION: good overall.
7) 14” x 11” Tinware mess kit, smaller cooking pots & burners all nest neatly inside. Good overall.
8) 6 Military blankets, mix of colors from OD to blue, including scarce model 1908 horse blanket w/ large embroidered "US" insignia. CONDITION: good to very good overall.
9) Pair of Cavalry Sergeant’s chevrons. CONDITION: very good overall.
10) Two pairs of leather gauntlets. CONDITION: good to very good.
11) Small box of canvas and leather leggings.
12) Group of military style cutlery including 7 large pewter spoons, 8 small stamped sheet iron spoons, 8 wood handle 3 tine forks & 8 wood handle knives. CONDITION: Very good overall. (02-15515/JS). $800-1,200.
