LARGE LOT OF CIVIL WAR ERA ACCOUTREMENTS.
1) US Civil War .58 cal. cartridge box, maker marked & inspected, complete w/ both tins. CONDITION: good to very good overall, complete & original. 2) White buff cartridge box sling, “Baker & McKinney. CONDITION: good, solid, complete w/ both tabs, heavily soiled. 3) Infantryman’s belt w/ US buckle, cap box, bayonet scabbard w/ bayonet. CONDITION: good overall, belt cuts at end, cap box dried but complete, bayonet scabbard frog worn, flaking, small tear but complete, bayonet is very good. 4) Bull’s-eye canteen w/ wool cover. CONDITION: good overall, w/ stopper. 5) Smooth sided Civil War canteen w/ frayed & stained cloth cover, pewter spout has makers mark, partial sling. CONDITION: fair, w/ stopper. 6) Pair of wooden soled shoes. 7) Three Civil War era fifes, 1 ebony, 2 rosewood, marked “Crosby”, all good w/ German silver tips. 8) 2 Civil War era drumsticks & 18" 3 loop bugle (post-Civil War) crushed bell. 9) Curry comb w/ wood handle. Identical to excavated examples from campsites. CONDITION: iron patina w/ pitting. 10) Pair of sewn leather saddlebags w/ canvas linings, CONDITION: poor, but mostly intact. 11) Bridle & bit w/ spurious “CSA” boss, post-Civil War. CONDITION: good overall. 12) Pair of wooden stirrups, one w/ leather cover. 13) 2 Tin cups of type carried by soldiers. 14) Eaglehead side knife w/ mother of pearl grips, cutdown sword. CONDITION: very good overall. 15) Marlinspike w/ leather handle fitted leather sheath. (02-14258/JS). $1,000-2,000.
