HELMETS & A SWORD. 1) WWII HELMET. A front seam, fixed bail, WWII M1 style helmet w/ a high quality reproduction Hawley liner. CONDITION: helmet appears unissued w/ storage wear. (02-14033/BF). 2) MAMELUKE MARINE CORPS OFFICER’S SWORD. Overall length: 38". Blade length: 30 3/4". Blade is etched over 2/3 of its length w/ various Marine Corps & foliate motifs. There is a 3" panel on the blade engraved, “John F. Sorenson MAJOR USMC RET”. Sword is marked “VANGUARD NEW YORK SOLINGEN GERMANY”. Gold plated hilt w/ acorn finials on the crossguard. 2 Piece white composite grips. Black leather sword knot. Silvered scabbard w/ gilded mts. CONDITION: blade has a factory finish. Gold plating on hilt shows noticeable wear. 3) WWII GI LOT BELONGING TO A.L. JONES 31069139. This lot includes a duffle bag w/ name & serial number. / 1 Laundry bag. / 1 Web belt. / 1 Canteen. / 1 Gas mask in bag. / 1 First Aid pouch. / 1 Red safety light. / 1 M1 style helmet w/ fixed bails & front seam. / 1 Pair leather puttees. / 1 Length of OD rope. A WWII souvenir pillow cover from the Harbor Defenses of Portland, Maine. 6) BERET. A Vietnam era black Special Forces beret w/ patch & enameled DI. 7) 48 STAR FLAG. Flag is in relic condition. 8) WWI US ARTILLERY INSIGNIA. A nice group of insignia from Perley Currier, a PFC in Battery F of the 73rd Artillery.
