LARRY WEISHUHN: Match Grade Arms .300 Win Mag
In early 1997, Match Grade Arms (MG Arms) built a custom .300 Win Mag, using a skeletonized Remington Model 700 action, custom barrel with integral muzzle brake, Teflon-coated action and barrel rifle for Larry Weishuhn. The highly accurate rifle was initially and still is, scoped with an extremely high quality, very limited edition 6-20x44 (with external turrets) scope built by Simmons Optics for U.S. Army snipers. At the time, Weishuhn worked with Simmons Optics in developing and field testing scopes. The stock is a synthetic, used by MG Arms at the time. The rifle bears the "Larry Weishuhn" signature, laser-engraved by MG Arms. The rifle was used on Larry's first trip to Africa, with Frontier Safaris, as well as numerous other hunts throughout the world. It appeared in several publications, including photos and articles and is prominently shown in Weishuhn's book "Trailing the Hunter's Moon, An Adventure Journal", published in 2004 by Stoeger Press. The rifle comes with the original "Team Realtree" sling that was used in Africa, a signed photo of Larry with a black wildebeest (his first animal taken in Africa), a letter of provenance and a signed copy of "Trailing the Hunter's Moon, An Adventure Journal", which shows several photos of the rifle and Larry. The only change to the original rifle, is a recently updated trigger. DSC FOUNDATION THANKS LARRY WEISHUHN FOR THIS 100% DONATION. Larry Weishuhn, larryweishuhn@yahoo.com.
