LATE PRODUCTION HENRY REPEATING RIFLE.
Cal. 44 Henry rimfire. S#. 14308. Bbl. 24" octagon with integral mag tube. Shroud at muzzle end of Bbl. rotates for loading. Top flat is marked "HENRY'S PATENT. OCT. 16, 1860/MANUFACT'D. BY THE NEW HAVEN ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CT." Blade front sight with sporting leaf rear sight. Brass action has lever latch. Straight grip walnut stock with Late style pointed heel trapdoor brass buttplate. Inside of buttplate is numbered 14308 that matches primary number on breach end of Bbl. CONDITION: iron parts have acquired a heavy brown patina. Brass action and buttplate exhibit a pleasing mustard color appearance. Unsanded stock has aged darkened appearance showing scratches, marks and dents. Action exhibits good function. Magazine follower stop screw on right side of Bbl. is broken.
