The Specialty Grade replaced the No. 2. It was advertised as "Every inch a true sportman's gun. Built to last, with the fine lines for which the L.C. Smith guns are famous.". Case colored sidelock action features flying duck on right lock w. 2 quail on left surrounded by foliate scroll that extends to top & lower portions of receiver as well as trigger guard & breech ends of bbls. Dbl. triggers. Selective ejectors. Ebony tipped splinter forearm & hard rubber capped pistol grip stock of hand checkered black walnut. LOP: 13 15/16" over original hard rubber buttplate. DAC: 1 1/2". DAH: 2 1/2". Stock has slight cast off. Chambers are lengthened to 2 3/4". Choke constrictions opened to: right - cyl bore, left - .012. WEIGHT: 6 lbs., 5.5oz. CONDITION: bbls. retain over 80% lightly faded blue. Action shows traces of case colors in protected areas. Wood has lightly worn finish & checkering showing numerous scratches & dents. Buttplate has sm. chip left of toe. Bbls. show scattered light pitting. Right bbl. has slight ring bulge approx. 2" from muzzle. (20-417/DS). CURIO. $1,000-2,000.
