REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 335525. Bbl. 5 1/2". This striking revolver was engraved while Master Engraver Cuno Helfricht was head of Colt's engraving department, ca. 1871-1921. Level 2 factory engraving features vine type foliate scroll with beaded backgrounds on sides of frame and barrel. Cylinder as well as upper and lower receiver areas, backstrap, butt and trigger guard have complimenting scroll with highlights and fancy borders. 5 1/2" Barrel with blade sight. 6 Shot fluted cylinder. Custom full nickel finish. 2 Piece ivory grips with Rampant Colt medallions. Right panel has raised carved ox head motif. Frame, grip straps, barrel and cylinder have matching numbers. Left side of trigger guard has triangle "VP" proof mark at front and is stamped "1" at rear. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt Manufacturing Company letter stating the following: "Serial Number: 335525 / Caliber: .45/c / Barrel Length: 5 1/2" / Finish: Blue / Type of Stocks: Ivory with carved ox head / Factory Engraved: Yes, Level 2 engraving / Shipped To: Shelton Payne Arms Company / Address: El Paso, Texas / Date of Shipment: April 30, 1917 / Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 1". Also included is an unmarked Mexican double loop holster. Mahogany finish holster features striking light colored plant based borders. CONDITION: metal retains over 70% nickel finish.
