TRAINING SYSTEM DEVICE. A military marksmanship training device. It was invented by French army officer Monsieur Campana, and produced by André Losfeld Company of Paris & adopted by the French army in 1962. It is basicly a flashlight with a lens to focus and project the light in a small dot to be projected on a target, downrange. It includes a device that mounts behind the trigger, a battery pack that utilizes 2, 1.5v AA batteries and locks into the trigger guard. 2 wires are plugged in to the battery box, one from the trigger device and the other into the flashlight at the muzzle, and when the circuit is completed by depressing the trigger, the beam of light is emitted on to the target. The purpose was to train youth soldiers previously unfamiliar with firearms in a more controlled environment, and to save money by taking live ammo out of the training equation. This kit is complete w/ light / muzzle device, battery pack, wiring, leather straps to secure the wires from hanging below the gun, several spare bulbs, and the original operators manual in a fitted 9"x7"x2.5" wooden case w/ leather carry handle & aluminum data plate. CONDITION: Military surplus that appears to have been stored properly. Electronics appear functional w/ addition of 2 AA batteries. (02-16807-14/JZ) $100-200.
