II BOLT ACTION RIFLES. BOTH: cal. 303 British. Bbls. 25 1/4". 1) LITHGOW SMLE III*. S# 90046. All visible numbers match. Import mark on right side of clip guide. Butt socket marked on right side "MA LITHGOW S.M.L.E. III* 1942". Receiver ring has view marks on left side. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 yards. Blade front sight. Nose cap has bayonet lug & protective ears. Matching Australian hardwood stock set. Buttstock marked on right side "MA LITHGOW S.M.L.E. III* HV 1942" & "8-44". MAGS: 1 detachable 10 rd. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, staining & scratches. Markings on buttstock are crisp. Handguard & forend have had finished removed for approx. 8" behind front sight. Metal has 75% original finish w/ light wear, scratches & handling marks. Buttstock is slightly loose to socket. Near excellent shiny bore. (21-1172/DS). 2) ENFIELD NO. 4 MARK I. S# BW19798. Numbers match on receiver, bolt, mag. & forend. Import marked on right side of butt socket. Left side of receiver stamped "N-4. MK 1" additionally electro penciled "NO 4 MK I F (FTR) 48" indicating factory thorough repair at Fazakarley arsenal in 1948. Left side of receiver ring has export marks. Adj. ladder aperture graduated to 1300 yds. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Matching walnut stock set w/ grooved rear handguard & brass trap buttplate. MAGS: 1 detachable 10 rd. CONDITION: stock set has light to moderate wear, staining & handling marks including deep scratch on right side of buttstock extending from middle of grip nearly to butt swivel. Metal has 75% black arsenal rework finish w/ light wear & flaking, notable loss of finish at tips of handguard & forend. Near excellent shiny bore. (21-1177/RW). ALL CURIO. $500-700.
