BRONZE SCULPTURE
By Bruce Killen
Artist, outdoorsman, and conservationist Bruce Killen,
died in 2012 at the age of 74. Bruce was a renowned
sculptor and endeavored to give honor to the wildlife
that inspired him. Living life to the fullest, any day could
fi nd Bruce riding one of his motorcycles down the back
roads of Southern Oregon, fi shing along the Rogue,
or enjoying the wildlife with his grandsons. Bruce grew
up in Minnesota, joined the Navy serving as a medic
and eventually moved to Medford, Oregon with his wife
Elaine where they raised their three children. Bruce
was a life member of several conservation and hunting
groups, including RMEF, often donating his art for their
fundraising auctions. He was an advocate for protecting
the Foothill Roosevelt elk herd, which lived around his
Dry Creek Road home. Bruce’s spectacular wildlife
sculptures can be found in homes and museums across
the world.
