LOT OF EIGHT ASIAN KNIVES.

Lot of eight Asian knives mostly Nepalese. 1. Long kukri this knife measures 23" w/ a 17" blade. The consignor states that this long kukri was given to him by Gurka soldier in Al Hillah Iraq in 2003. Included are a leather scabbard. CONDITION: the brass parts are a dull yellow patina w/ some staining. Blade is a gray patina w/ light oxidation staining. Handles show handling wear & scratches. The scabbard is separating w/ some large areas of flaking & crazing.
2. is a short kukri w/ scabbard. The consignor states that this was also given to him by Ghurka troops in Iraq in 2003. The blade is marked "NEPAL 2003". The kukri measures 15" w/ a 10" blade. A leather scabbard is present w/ two auxiliary knives in the back pouch. CONDITION: the blade remains mostly bright w/ some scratches & a couple small spots of flaking. The brass parts of the handle are a yellow patina w/ light oxidation staining. The handles show handling wear. The leather scabbard shows some dust staining & crazing.
3. is a USMC marked kukri. The tag on this kukri states that this knife was given to USMC personnel at the US Embassy in Katmandu, Nepal in the 1980's. The tag also states it was a private purchase by Lt. Col. Bob Spence. The knife measures 15" w/ a 10" blade. The blade is marked "USMC". The scabbard has two small auxiliary knives in the back pouch. CONDITION: the blade remains mostly bright w/ some light scratches & some light oxidation. The brass parts of the handle are a dull yellow patina w/ some oxidation staining. The handles show some handling wear & flaking. The leather scabbard shows some dirt staining & crazing.
4. is a Nepalese Kukri. The blade is marked "NEPAL 2003" & the consignor states that it was given to him by Gurkha troops at Al Hillah, Iraq in 2003. The knife measures 15" w/ a 10" blade. The leather scabbard has two auxiliary knives in the back pouch. CONDITION: the blade remains mostly bright w/ some light scratches & fine oxidation. The brass parts of the handle are dulling to a yellow patina w/ some oxidation staining. The handles have a 1" crack & some handling wear. The leather scabbard shows dust staining w/ some flaking.
5. is a British MKII Pattern Kurki made in 1943 by Pioneer Calcutta. This knife measures 17" w/ a 13" blade. A 1944 dated brown leather scabbard is also present. CONDITION: the blade appears to have been sharpened amateurishly & is a gray patina w/ scattered oxidation w/ some dings. The wooden handles show a couple cracks, chips, some staining & handling marks. The leather scabbard shows scattered crazing, staining & flaking.
6. the sixth knife is a brass handled Kukri. This knife has three Nepalese characters on the blade. The knife measures 16" w/ an 11" blade. A leather scabbard is present w/ two brass handled auxiliary knives. The blade remains mostly bright w/ some light oxidation & scratches. The brass handles are a dull yellow patina w/ some flaking & oxidation staining. The leather scabbard shows scattered crazing & flaking.
7. the seventh knife is a small kukri w/ a gold finish. This knife measures 6" w/ a 3 3/4" blade. A leather scabbard is present. CONDITION: the gold finished blade shows some light oxidation. The handles show moderate handling wear. The leather scabbard shows crazing & handling wear w/ a section of the belt loop being missing.
8. the last knife is a Filipino hand made machete. The consignor states that he acquired this knife in 2000 while working security in Algeria. The knife has a bright metal construction & measures 17" w/ a 10" blade. The handmade wooden scabbard has a crudely made belt attachment. CONDITION: the knife has a dull gray appearance w/ scattered dings, scratches & oxidation. The scabbard shows some dings & light chips. (02-16459-5/MJC). $300-500.
