SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. S# FWE138660. Bbls. 26" & fitted w/ raised matted flat rib are marked "LC SMITH Field GRADE" "Hunter Arms Co. Inc. M'F'R'S FULTON, N.Y., USA". Bbl. flats stamped w/ S#, grade, hunter proofs & "CHAMBERS" "3 INCHES". Bottoms of bbls. stamped armor steel. Case hardened sidelock action features automatic safety & dbl. triggers. Water table stamped w/ complete S# & "FIELD". Front of lockplates stamped "L.C. SMITH". Triggers & trigger guard are blued. Pistol grip stock of lightly fiddle figured American walnut measures 14 1/8" over serrated hard rubber buttplate. Rounded grip cap is also hard rubber. Point pattern flat top checkering is at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend has usual j-spring & secondary knurled roll release & oval steel escutcheon. MEASUREMENTS: BARRELS: Diameter at muzzle: R .399 (MOD?). L .392 (FULL?). Min. Wall Thickness: R .030. L .025. STOCK: LOP: 14 1/8". DAC: 1 5/8+" DAH: 2 11/16+". Cast: 0. WEIGHT: 5 lb. 15 oz. CONDITION: extra fine, original as found. Bbls. retaining over 95% original blue. Action & lockplates w/ approx. 90% original case hardening color w/ some minor areas of discoloration on left side of action & associated light freckling which also extends to bottom, slightly silvered on sharp edges. Rear portion of right lockplate also has some very light freckling. Blue of trigger guard & triggers is over 90% w/ high edge wear & a couple almost unnoticeable darker spots. Stocks retain nearly all of their original oil finish w/ some light marks. Rear 3 1/2" area on buttstock somewhat lighter in color most likely due to protection from sunlight by lace on pad. There are no chips in buttplate. Bright shiny bores, mechanically excellent. (21-892/MGM). CURIO. $5,000-8,000.
