Beautifully rebound in red leather Koran written in Arabic and many pages with gold paint and some beautiful floral patterns. Probably late 18th or 19th century. Some blue panels with ornate decoration and nearly all remounted on thin paper in some area completely transparent. The first page left to right reading (O Allah, you are the one who is All-seeing, so grant me happiness and good fortune). Another page from right to left and of the most ornately decorated reading: Brother of the faith and religious spirit, he writes that as the holy Yazidi saint, the Almighty, has given his shoulder to guide the people who have died in the valley of ignorance and misguidance, through fasts, supplications, and act of worship, which are the best and the closest of knowledge to the Nile of happiness. By participating in this auction bidders agree that all lots are sold as is without any warrants or representations with respect to the lots. When identical absentee bids are submitted the auctioneer will accept the first bid presented at his or her discretion. The highest bidder as determined by the auction house shall be responsible to pay for the hammer, buyer's premium and any applicable sales tax. Ownership of lots shall not be transitioned to the respective winning bidder until the auction house is satisfied with all funds being transferred and cleared to the auction house's account. All sales are final. Buyers have 10 days to arrange for removal of lots from the auction houses facility. After 10 days the auction house reserves the right to charge a $5 storage fee for each additional day until the lots have been removed. The auction house reserves the right to relist and sell any lots which have accrued a storage fee larger than the hammer plus buyer's premium total for a given lot. Shipping and safe delivery of the lots is the buyer's responsibility. The auction house reserves the right to update or remove any lot listed at the auction house's discretion.
