DESCRIPTION
81" x 81" stone lithograph. Produced by the Norman Film Manufacturing Company in 1922, the film advertised its "All Colored Cast", including Anita Bush (founder of the All-Colored Dramatic Stock Company), Lawrence Chenault (a well-known vaudeville performer), and Bill Picket, along with a supporting cast of local cowboys. The Norman Studios was one of the most prominent studios in the early 20th century to cast Black actors in positive leading roles, in stark contrast to the stereotypical, subservient roles common at the time. It produced films focused on Black audiences, and produced eight feature-length films including "The Bull-Dogger" in 1921 featuring Bill Pickett in the lead role, and "The Crimson Skull" in 1922. **Fair condition. All six panels present with some prominent folds. Some tearing to edges and along fold seams. This important film poster would benefit greatly from profession conservation.** $400-$600
