A Lee-Enfield Royal Irish Constabulary carbine. 21" barrel with a frosted bore chambered for .303 British. Wood Stock. Factory open sights, detachable 6-round magazine. Matching serial numbers on bolt, barrel and receiver. The stock disk shows that this carbine was taken into RIC service in December of 1904 and had an RIC control number 6966.

This was the conversion of Lee-Enfield carbines to accept the Pattern 1888 Long Lee-Enfield bayonet. The forend was adapted to accept a Long Lee-Enfield lose-cap and a sleeve was fitted to the muzzle end of the barrel. The studs for the leather rear sight cover were removed and the holes were filled.

This is a non-restricted firearm.
