Lee-Enfield SMLE MK III bolt action rifle, .303 British caliber, Serial #27618. The rifle is in fine overall condition with a 25” barrel with a protected blade front and military tangent style rear sights. TheLithgow Arsenal rifle retains nearly all of the military finish with British and Australian proofs and acceptance marks. The wrist strap is dated 1945 and marked Lithgow. The right rear of the receiver is marked,“AUSTRALIA .303”. The smooth wood stock is in good condition with cartouches in front of and behind the trigger guard. Additionally, the right side of the butt stock is dated 5/47. The rifle has sling swivels and abrass butt plate. The bore is bright, the action functions well and the markings are crisp on this WWII era SMLE. Est.: $250-$500. (C+R).
